One of the greatest character actors of his time was Edward Everett Horton, who lived in Encino in the San Fernando Valley. Mr. Horton was a “working actor” who started his performing career on Broadway and in Vaudeville. He continued to work into the 1960s. Because of his service to the Encino community, the city of Los Angeles renamed the street on which he lived as Edward Everett Horton Avenue.
