SUNDAY JANUARY 10TH - 12:30 PM -CAMPO DE CAHUENGA ANNUAL REENACTMENT - NOT TO BE MISSED

Campo’s signature event, the celebration of the signing of the Articles of Capitulation on January 13, 1847, will be commemorated this year on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016. Activities begin at 12:30 p.m. and conclude at 2:30 p.m.

The peace treaty that became known as the Treaty of Cahuenga will be commemorated much like it was more than a century and a half ago, with a reenactment of the signing by Generals Andres Pico and John C. Fremont, followed by fiesta dancing by Carolina Russek dancers.

The cannon will once again be fired in celebration, and the memorial wreath will be presented.

Campo tacos will be available for purchase, though the event is free and all are welcome, in period costume or not. Activities begin at 12:30 p.m. and conclude at 2:30 p.m.

Several interesting exhibitor booths will be on site.

Free parking is available in the adjacent Metro parking lot. Campo is easily accessible from the Campo/NBCUniversal Metro Red Line station.
